Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Plain answers about who we are, how we are paid, how investing through a distributor works and how the website account differs from the investment platform.

About the firm and how we are paid

Is I Tag Financials registered with SEBI or AMFI?

I Tag Financials (Green Outdoors Global Private Limited) is an AMFI-registered Mutual Fund Distributor with ARN-319081, valid January 2025 – January 2028, verifiable on the AMFI website (amfiindia.com). We operate within SEBI's regulatory framework for mutual fund distribution. We are not a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser, Research Analyst or stock broker.

How can I verify your registration myself?

Go to the AMFI website (amfiindia.com) and use its distributor search facility. Search for ARN-319081 or for Green Outdoors Global Private Limited. The result shows the registered name, the ARN and its validity period. You can check any mutual fund distributor in the same way before you invest through them.

How does I Tag Financials earn? Do you charge me a fee?

We do not charge investors a separate fee for mutual fund distribution. As a mutual fund distributor, we are paid commission by asset management companies on investments made through us in regular plans. We disclose the commission that applies when we recommend a scheme to you, and on request at any time.

How does distributor commission work, and where does it come from?

When you invest in a regular plan through a distributor, the asset management company pays the distributor a commission for as long as you stay invested. This commission is part of the scheme's expenses, so it is already reflected in the expense ratio and in the NAV of the regular plan. You do not pay it to us separately. Because commission rates differ between schemes, a distributor has a potential conflict of interest, which is why we disclose the commission when we recommend a scheme to you and whenever you ask.

What is the difference between a regular plan and a direct plan?

Most schemes are offered in two plans that hold the same portfolio and are run by the same fund manager. A regular plan is bought through a distributor and includes distributor commission in its expense ratio. A direct plan is bought from the asset management company without a distributor, so its expense ratio is lower and its NAV is different. We distribute regular plans. If you prefer to choose and manage schemes on your own, you can invest in direct plans with any asset management company.

Investing in mutual funds

Do you guarantee returns on mutual fund investments?

No. Mutual funds do not offer guaranteed or assured returns, and no distributor is permitted to promise them. Mutual Fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme related documents carefully. Past performance is not indicative of future returns.

What is the minimum amount needed to start a SIP?

There is no single figure. Minimum amounts are set by each scheme and are stated in its scheme documents.

Is KYC mandatory to invest in mutual funds?

Yes. KYC (Know Your Client) verification is required before investing in any mutual fund. We help you with the KYC process. The documents needed are set by the KYC rules and typically include your PAN and proof of identity and address.

How do I stop or change a SIP?

You can cancel a SIP at any time. Place a cancellation request through the investment platform, ask us to help, or contact the asset management company directly. A cancellation needs some processing time before the next instalment date, and that notice period is set by the asset management company, so place the request well ahead. Stopping a SIP only stops future instalments. Units you already hold stay invested until you redeem them.

Do the calculators on this website predict my returns?

No. The calculators are for illustration and education only. They apply an assumed rate of return to an amount and a period. Each calculator opens with placeholder figures, including the rate, and you can change all of them. The rate is hypothetical. It is not a forecast and does not represent the performance of any mutual fund scheme. Actual results depend on markets and can be higher or lower, including a loss.

What documents should I read before investing in a scheme?

Every scheme has a Scheme Information Document (SID) and a Key Information Memorandum (KIM), and each mutual fund has a Statement of Additional Information (SAI). Together they set out the scheme's objective, where it invests, its risks, its riskometer level, costs and exit load. They are published on the asset management company's website.

Website account and client tools

What is the difference between the website account and the investment platform login?

They are two separate things. The website account on itagfin.com is used only for our client tools: the Financial Journey form, the Will Preparation form and your saved drafts. It cannot be used to buy, sell or view mutual fund holdings. Investments are transacted on a separate investment platform that is provided by a third party and has its own login. The two do not share passwords or data.

Do I need my PAN to create a website account?

No. A website account needs only your name, an email address and a password. We do not ask for PAN, date of birth, Aadhaar or bank details at registration. PAN and other identity details are needed only for KYC and for investing, and that happens through the regulated KYC and transaction process, not through the website account.

What is the Financial Journey tool?

It is a guided online form where you record your income, family, assets, liabilities, existing investments, insurance and goals. With a website account you can save it partway and return later. We ask for your consent before the form is first saved to our server; until then your entries stay in your browser tab. It can help you set out your situation before we talk. The website does not send the form to us. It is a planning input that is incidental to mutual fund distribution. It is not a financial plan and it does not recommend any scheme.

What is the Will Preparation tool?

It is a guided form that helps you gather the information usually needed before a Will is drafted, such as family details, assets, beneficiaries, executors and witnesses. It only collects information to help prepare a draft. It does not create a Will, and this website does not provide legal advice or a legal service. A Will must be properly signed and witnessed to be valid, and you may need a qualified legal professional.

Will I receive newsletters or promotional messages if I register or send an enquiry?

Only if you choose to. The registration and contact forms have a separate box for educational updates, newsletters and promotional communications. It is not ticked for you and you can leave it empty: your account or enquiry is handled the same way. If you have an account you can change the choice at any time under Communication preferences in the Client Dashboard, which also lists the consents on record with their dates. If you ticked the box on the contact form without an account, write to us to withdraw it.

How do I delete my website account?

Log in, open the Client Dashboard and choose the option to delete your account. You are asked for your password to confirm. Deletion from the live database is permanent. It removes your account, your saved forms, your consent records and your active sessions, and we send an email to confirm it has been done. Backup copies of the database are kept for up to 15 days.

Does deleting my website account affect my mutual fund investments?

No. Your mutual fund units are held in your folio with the asset management company and are not stored in the website account. Deleting the website account removes only the account and the forms saved in it. Your investments, your KYC record and your investment platform login are not changed.
