Mutual fund distribution
Mutual fund services
Access to schemes from a wide range of fund houses, with help on KYC and onboarding. We distribute regular plans and earn commission from AMCs.
What a mutual fund is
A mutual fund pools money from many investors and invests it in shares, bonds or other securities according to a stated objective, managed by an asset management company approved by SEBI. Each investor holds units, and the value of a unit (the NAV) rises and falls with the value of what the scheme holds.
New to the terms? The investor education primer explains NAV, expense ratio, exit load, the riskometer and scheme documents.
Fund categories
The main categories and their general risk character
These are broad descriptions, not recommendations. Each scheme states its own objective, asset allocation and riskometer level in its scheme documents.
-
Equity funds
Invest mainly in shares of listed companies. They are generally used for long-term goals.
Risk character: Higher risk. Values can fall sharply and stay down for long periods, so they need a long horizon and the ability to sit through declines.
-
Debt funds
Invest in bonds, government securities and money market instruments. Often used for shorter horizons and for the stable part of a portfolio.
Risk character: Generally less volatile than equity, but not free of risk. They carry interest-rate risk and credit risk, and the level varies widely between debt categories.
-
Hybrid funds
Hold a mix of equity and debt in proportions set out in the scheme documents. Some keep the mix fixed and others change it.
Risk character: Risk sits between equity and debt and depends on how much equity the scheme holds. Read the asset allocation before assuming it is moderate.
-
Index and passive funds
Aim to track a stated market index instead of selecting securities actively. This group includes index funds and exchange traded funds.
Risk character: They carry the full market risk of the index they track, plus a small tracking difference. An equity index fund is as volatile as its index.
-
ELSS (tax-saving funds)
Equity Linked Savings Schemes are equity funds with a mandatory lock-in period. Investments may qualify for a deduction under prevailing income-tax provisions.
Risk character: The same risk as other equity funds, and units cannot be redeemed during the lock-in. Tax rules change, so check current rules or ask a tax professional.

Which category fits a goal?
Time horizon and your capacity to take risk drive the choice of category, not recent returns.
What we do
Our role as your distributor
-
Scheme access across AMCs
We distribute regular plans of schemes from a wide range of SEBI-registered mutual funds, across equity, debt, hybrid and index categories.
-
KYC and onboarding support
KYC is mandatory before investing. We help you complete it and set up your investment account. The process is largely paperless.
-
Paperless transactions
Purchases, SIPs, switches and redemptions are placed through a separate investment platform provided by a third party. It is not part of this website and has its own login.
-
Review support
On request, we review your holdings with you against your goals and horizon, and help with changes you decide to make.
You can invest through a SIP or a lumpsum. Details of the investment platform are in the third-party platform disclosure.
Regular plans and direct plans
Most schemes come in a regular plan and a direct plan with the same portfolio. We distribute regular plans, which include distributor commission in their expense ratio. Direct plans are bought from the AMC without a distributor and have a lower expense ratio. You are free to choose either route.
How we are paid
We earn commission from AMCs on investments made through us in regular plans. Commission rates differ between schemes, which is a potential conflict of interest. We disclose the commission applicable to a scheme when we recommend it, and on request at any time.
