What you can expect from us
This is a plain-language summary of what the AMFI Code of Conduct for Mutual Fund Distributors expects of us as an ARN holder. It is not the full text. The Code itself, available from AMFI, is the authoritative version.
- To know who you are dealing with. We are an AMFI-registered Mutual Fund Distributor (ARN-319081), and we will say so. You can verify this on the AMFI website.
- To have your interest put first, ahead of the commission we may earn.
- To be asked about your situation so that the suitability of a scheme can be considered.
- To receive full scheme information, including the scheme documents, key features and risk factors, without anything material being held back.
- To know how we are paid, including the commission on the competing schemes discussed with you. See Commission & Conflict Disclosure.
- To be told that our information is limited to the mutual funds we distribute, and that other products exist.
- Never to be promised a return, and never to be offered a rebate or gift to invest.
- To have your information kept confidential.
- To have your application submitted as you completed it, with your own contact details and not ours.
Your rights as a unit holder
When you invest, your legal relationship is with the mutual fund. SEBI regulations and the scheme documents give unit holders rights that include the following. This is a plain-language summary, not a complete or authoritative list. The detail and any time limits are set out in the scheme's Statement of Additional Information and in the investor charter for mutual funds, which you can find through the SEBI and AMFI websites.
- To receive the scheme documents before investing.
- To receive confirmation of your transactions and periodic account statements.
- To have the scheme's NAV, portfolio and expenses disclosed regularly by the AMC.
- To redeem your units and receive the proceeds as the scheme documents provide, subject to any exit load or lock-in.
- To receive any income distribution declared by the scheme.
- To be informed of fundamental changes to a scheme and given the chance to exit as the regulations provide.
- To nominate a person to receive your units, and to change that nomination.
- To complain to the AMC and to the regulator.
Your right to choose
- You are free to invest in a direct plan instead of a regular plan. See Regular vs Direct Plans.
- You are free to say no. A conversation with us, an enquiry or a website account creates no obligation to invest.
- You are free to change your distributor or to stop using one. Ask the AMC how, and check any cost or tax consequence before you move an existing investment.
- You are free to take as long as you need to read the documents before deciding.
Your rights over your data
You can ask what personal data we hold, have it corrected, withdraw consent and have it erased. You can delete your website account and saved drafts yourself at any time. See the Privacy Policy and the Account & Data Deletion Policy.
Your right to complain
You can complain to us and to the AMC. You may also take a complaint to AMFI, to SEBI through SCORES, and to the SMART ODR portal for online conciliation and arbitration. See Grievance Redressal.
Your responsibilities
- Read the scheme documents before you invest.
- Give accurate information for KYC and when we ask about your circumstances.
- Make payments only from your own bank account, to the mutual fund, through authorised channels.
- Do not sign blank forms, and do not share passwords or one-time passwords with anyone, including us.
- Keep your contact details, bank details and nomination up to date with the AMC.
- Check your account statements and raise any discrepancy promptly.
